iOnTV is an opensource application for Mac OS X that I’m writing.

It uses an HDHomeRun from SiliconDust to record TV and then converts that TV from it’s Digital Broadcast MPEG-2 format to H.264 and adds it to iTunes so that you can watch the recording on an iPod, iPhone or AppleTV (or directly in iTunes on a Mac if you wish).

iOnTV gives you a searchable TV guide and takes care of scheduling recordings of your favorite TV programs much like a DVR. It uses the Handbrake libraries to convert the Digital MPEG-2 format broadcast TV into the H.264 format used by iTunes.
