So the website for iOnTV is now live.
What’s iOnTV ? Well the site explains most of it (or as much as I want to say for now). Basically it’s an application for Mac OS X to record TV (Digital broadcast or Digital cable) and then to convert it (using Handbrake) and insert it into iTunes so that you can watch it on your Apple TV, iPod or iPhone.
It should be ready to ship in October - but not before then. Why then ? Because iOnTV makes a lot of use of new features in Leopard. So register and I’ll let you when it’s ready for download.
Also it’s going to be opensource - not because I expect a huge number of people to want to contribute but mostly because I believe that those who do want to contribute should be able to, and also because to make the most out of iOnTV you’ll need a subscription to SchedulesDirect to get the TV Listings and SchedulesDirect requires applications using it’s services to be OpenSource.
